If the VIN cannot be found there, open the driver's side door and look at the door post (where the door latches when it is closed).You can verify the last 4-6 digits of the VIN on the engine and transmission ID pads if they're original to the truck... and there's usually a partial or even full VIN on top of the RH frame rail under the cab.
