As long as your Thrall can get around 1000 armour, they are good (non-linear Damage Reduction makes it worth less and less to go over 1K armour). They are actually able to complete combos because of hyper armor and the last hit of heavy combo does massive damage.Additional plating doesn't add enough damage reduction to armor to be worth the increased weight, but on thralls armor weight is irrelevant.
