A four digit one would be from 1950-1952, which would not be Model marked. An early J marked one with a four digit number would be from 1969. The Catalog I have only goes to 2006. The grips appear to be original to the gun, the right panel is stamped with the s/n, but it is stamped 9XX Y. and the J is there, but not in line with the rest of the s/n.
